Privacy Notice

This notice explains how I use personal information when you contact or use Edubury.

Who I am

Edubury is operated by Elena, trading as Edubury.

For privacy questions or requests, email hello@edubury.com.

How I use personal information

When you contact Edubury, I may use your name and contact details, our correspondence, and information you choose to provide about the task, device, account or digital service you need help with. If an in-person session requires it, I may also use your location or address.

I use this information to respond to enquiries, discuss the work and price, arrange and provide an agreed service, and keep necessary customer and service records. The lawful basis is contract under UK data protection law. This includes steps you ask me to take before a service is agreed, such as discussing the work or providing a price.

I may use financial or transaction records where necessary to meet legal or accounting requirements. The lawful basis is legal obligation.

I may use limited relevant customer and service records and correspondence to deal with complaints, disputes or legal claims. The lawful basis is legitimate interests: keeping appropriate records so I can deal with these matters where necessary.

The website may process limited technical information such as your IP address, browser or device information, website usage information and your cookie choice. I rely on legitimate interests for essential website operation and security, and on consent for optional analytics.

Who I share information with

Where necessary, I share personal information with service providers that provide website and CRM services, email hosting and email software, business messaging and analytics. I may also share relevant information with professional advisers, public authorities or other organisations where I am legally required to do so.

International transfers

Some technology providers may process personal information outside the UK, including in the EEA and the United States. Where UK international transfer rules apply, transfers are protected by UK adequacy regulations or data bridges, or by approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable.

You can email hello@edubury.com for information about the safeguard used for a particular transfer.

How long I keep information

I keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected and for any applicable legal, accounting or claims requirements. Enquiry information is kept only while it is reasonably needed to deal with the enquiry and related follow-up. Customer, service and transaction records are kept only while needed for providing the service and for relevant record-keeping, accounting or legal purposes.

Technical and analytics information is kept only for as long as needed for the stated website purpose and applicable consent settings. Information is deleted when it is no longer needed.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis used, you may have rights to access your personal information, correct it, ask for it to be erased or its use restricted, and receive certain information in a portable format where applicable. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time, including by changing your Cookie Settings for optional analytics.

Right to object: where I rely on legitimate interests, you may have the right to object to that processing.

To exercise a data protection right, email hello@edubury.com.

Providing information and complaints

You do not have to provide personal information, but if I do not have the information reasonably needed to understand your enquiry, contact you or provide the requested service, I may be unable to help or provide a price.

If you have a data protection complaint, email hello@edubury.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator.
